will provide faster threat assessment for infrastructure and large gatherings.
Expanding these capabilities will increase officer safety, enhance search
efficiency for suspects and missing persons, and reduce our reliance on outside
agencies. While requiring an initial investment, K9 teams offer long-term cost
efficiency by optimizing personnel resources and strengthening community
trust.
Charleston Police Department requires the addition of four K9s to ensure they
are prepared for the city's growth and modern policing challenges.
